On 25th November BFSS held its third Grants Workshop. Attended by over 50 people in total, including grant recipients and Trustees, the Workshop provided opportunity for grant holders:
– to network and share good practice
– to explore together our theme of re-establishing and renewing education in disaster and conflict affected areas
– to hear about developments at BFSS.
The Workshop was chaired by our Vice-President, Professor John Furlong, former Director of the Oxford University Department of Education, and featured presentations by Adrian Carr, CEO, EducAid Sierra Leone and Sarah Rowse, Director of Programmes, Children in Crisis.
Regional networking cluster groups as well as thematic discussion groups provided plenty of opportunities for participants to network and to discuss topics such as Teacher Training and Development in Poorly Resourced Education Systems and Monitoring and Evaluation with Reference to Pupil and Teacher Outcomes.
Feedback has been very positive and appreciative of BFSS’s role as a proactive and forward thinking funder, see Report on BFSS Grants Workshop 25 November 2015.
