BFSS supports #BringBackOurGirls

All of us at BFSS, including our President David Lammy MP, deplore the abduction of more than 200 Nigerian schoolgirls, kidnapped from their school in Chibok where many girls had gone to sit exams.

We believe that every child and young person, whether boy or girl, has the right to an effective education and our vision is equality of educational opportunity for all.   The abduction of the Nigerian girls from their school strikes at the heart of this basic right to education.

BFSS is supporting education for girls through many different projects.  Examples include a grant for a new dormitory at a secondary school in Uganda to enable more girls to remain in school and study longer hours for their exams as well as a grant for a community education project in Kabul with a high level of female enrolment.   Previous projects have included support for girl students through after school clubs in Somaliland.

Equality of opportunity, integrity, tolerance and respect for others are fundamental to our values as a Society.
